this was everything @madison may said it would be. So enjoyable, made me cry a bit and call my sister. I wish it was longer! rec league has become my favorite place for book recs.

Over the Garden Wall is a nice companion to this.

Short, lyrical, and lovely - a murder ballad turned into a Miyazaki movie, with girls who sing to trees, a fae otherworld, and grammar as literal magic. The audiobook is fabulously produced, if that’s your thing. 5/5
