
Marriage as a legally binding contract doesn’t really appeal to me, but this marriage certificate from 1815 just might change my mind. Eternally bound by watercolored flowers, sure why not?
There are a few certificates on display in the American Folk Art exhibit at the Huntington Library and Gardens.
The Huntington offers free entry on one Thursday a month.(also sometimes if you’re nice at the ticket counter, they’ll give you a Free entry guest pass. But you didn’t hear that from me.)
